# Wallets

> Register and verify the wallets that receive your tokens.

Tokens are minted to, and redeemed from, wallets you register. You need at least one verified wallet before you can request tokens.

## Register a wallet

**1. Open Wallets**

In your **Personal** workspace, select **Wallets** under **Account**.

**2. Add the address**

Select **Register an address**. Enter the **Wallet address** (starting with `0x`), an optional **Label**, and the **Network** your tokens live on.

**3. Prove you own it**

Choose how to sign the ownership message:

* **Browser wallet**: sign with a browser wallet extension such as MetaMask or Rainbow.
* **Signed elsewhere**: copy the message, sign it in your wallet, and paste the signature back.

Signing proves you control the address. It's a message, not a transaction: there's no gas fee and nothing moves.

Once verified, the wallet shows **Verified**. Wallets are also screened automatically before use and show **KYT cleared** when they pass.

## Manage wallets

* **Set primary**: choose the wallet that receives tokens by default.
* **Sign to verify**: finish verifying a wallet you added but didn't sign for.

## Organization wallets

Organizations register **Treasury wallets** on their **Organization** page. The primary treasury wallet receives minted tokens and is the source for redemptions. Organizations can also connect a **Custody vault** instead of a browser wallet.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Only Ethereum-style addresses (`0x` followed by 40 characters) are supported. Double-check the address before you sign. Tokens sent to the wrong address can't be recovered by Universal Mint.
