# Welcome to Universal Mint

> Issue, hold, and redeem asset-backed tokens with approvals you control and a signed record of every decision.

Universal Mint is a platform for tokens backed by real-world assets. Issuers list tokens backed by assets held with a custodian, investors request and redeem those tokens, and every change is approved by the right people and kept on a tamper-evident record.
