# Fees, increments, and access

> How token fees, request increments, and access rules work.

Each issuer sets the fees and rules for their own tokens. You'll find them on the token's page and in the request form.

## Fees

* Fees are a fixed amount per request, not a percentage.
* A token can charge an issuance fee, a redemption fee, both, or neither. The token page shows the redemption fee.
* Redemption fees are paid onchain in the stablecoin shown on the request, as a separate transfer to the token's **Fee Wallet**. See [Redeem tokens](/investors/redeem-tokens).
* The issuer's account manager confirms the fee with you before you send anything.

Network transaction costs for transfers you send from your own wallet are paid by you, as with any onchain transfer.

## Request increments

Some tokens only accept requests in whole increments. For example, metal delivered in standard 100 oz bars is redeemed in multiples of 100 tokens.

If your amount doesn't fit, the form shows **Amount must be a whole multiple of** the increment, and suggests the nearest valid amount.

## Who can request a token

An issuer can open a token to any verified investor, or limit requests to specific investors. If you can't request a token, its button is locked and shows **You have no permission to** request it. Contact the issuer if you think you should have access.

## Token terms and agreements

* Every token can have its own terms, which you accept before your first request.
* Some tokens also require a signed agreement through DocuSign for each request. The issuer sends you the agreement; enter its envelope ID in the request form.

## When requests are paused

If the platform, the token, or the issuer is suspended, a banner shows **New issuance and redemption are paused**. Your existing balances aren't affected. Requests open again once it's resumed.
