# List a token

> Submit a listing request for a new asset-backed token.

A listing request describes your token, its backing, and how requests work. The platform reviews it, and approving it makes the token live.

## Before you start

* Your organization is an **issuer** with verified business details (KYB), and your own identity is verified (KYC).
* The token's contract is already deployed on a supported network.
* You've added the [custodian and credentials](/issuers/custodians) the token will use.
* You have the token's public documents, such as a whitepaper and terms.

## Create the listing

Open **Tokens** and select **Add token**. The wizard saves your draft on this device as you go.

**1. Token type**

Choose the asset type: **Commodity** for gold, silver, platinum, or copper, or **Custom token** for other assets.

**2. Token details**

Enter the asset details, choose the **Network**, and enter the **Contract address**. The token's symbol, name, and decimals are read from the contract. Upload public documents; they become public once the token is listed.

**3. Reserve**

Select the custodians that hold the asset. All selected custodians must hold the same asset.

**4. Mint and burn**

Choose the signing provider, credential, vault, and asset that sign mints and burns. One pair can cover both, or burns can use a different vault.

**5. Requests**

Choose settlement methods and who can submit requests: any verified investor, or only specific investors.

**6. Roles**

Assign the account manager, operator, mint approver, and burn approver. See [Token roles](/issuers/delegation#token-roles).

**7. Fees**

Set fixed issuance and redemption fees, the request increment, and the **Token Return Wallet** and fee wallet.

**8. Terms**

Write the terms investors must accept before submitting a request, and optionally require a signed DocuSign agreement for issuance or redemption.

**9. Review and submit**

Check every setting and select **Submit the request**.

## After you submit

The listing appears under **Listing requests** as **In review**. The platform checks the configuration and either lists the token or rejects it with a reason. You'll get a notification either way.

Once listed, the token appears on [Listed tokens](https://app.universalmint.io/listed-tokens) and investors can start filing requests.

> Private documents you add are visible only to your organization and platform reviewers. Public documents are visible to everyone once the token is listed.
